Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's $17 billion week
"President Donald Trump is hinting that the US could not only open the Chinese market back to Nvidia but might even allow the chipmaker to sell its most advanced product. According to Bloomberg's Billionaire Index, Huang is now the ninth richest person in the world, behind former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and ahead of Dell CEO Michael Dell. Year over year, Huang's wealth has increased by $51 billion."
"Huang could have been even wealthier. Like other founders, he has diluted his ownership stake over time, though he owns less of Nvidia than Elon Musk owns Tesla or Warren Buffett owns Berkshire Hathaway."
Nvidia reached a $5 trillion market capitalization while Jensen Huang's personal wealth increased by more than $17 billion in a single week and about $51 billion year-over-year to roughly $174 billion. Bloomberg ranks Huang ninth among global billionaires. Huang has diluted his ownership over time and has approval to sell up to 6 million Nvidia shares this year. At the GTC AI conference Huang projected $500 billion in chip orders and closed his keynote with the phrase "Make America Great Again." President Trump indicated he may raise the potential sale of Nvidia’s Blackwell chip to China while H20 chip sales remain unresolved.
