Ohtani rues 'regrettable' inning, takes Game 4 loss
""Three more innings,""
""able to get on the mound in pretty good condition.""
""Every time he steps up, I expect great things to happen," Roberts said, "and maybe unfairly.""
Shohei Ohtani started Game 4 of the World Series as a two-way player but failed to produce offensively and was charged with the loss on the mound. He drew a leadoff walk, extending a streak to 11 consecutive times on base, then struck out twice and later grounded out. As a pitcher through six innings he recorded six strikeouts and surrendered a two-run homer to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Ohtani received intravenous fluids for leg cramps after an 18-inning, 6-hour, 39-minute Game 3, went to bed around 2 a.m., reported quality sleep, and did not replicate the dominance of the pennant clincher.
