Gimenez arrived in January from Feyenoord to address a previous striker problem but has not started strongly this campaign. Jonathan Burkardt has been linked as a possible alternative after prolific recent form, having scored 18 in 29 last season and six in seven for Eintracht Frankfurt this term. Milan previously scouted Burkardt in January 2025 but opted for Gimenez due to more advanced talks. Eintracht paid €21m and are unwilling to sell for anything less than irresistible offers.
