Wafa Shafiq experienced a job interview conducted by an AI bot named Alex, which surprised her with its ability to ask insightful follow-up questions. While companies adopt AI to streamline hiring, candidates face concerns about personal connections and evaluation methods. Some experts suggest that while AI can alleviate tedious tasks for HR, it also poses risks of confusion and job loss. The introduction of AI interviewers, like those from Ribbon, showcases a growing trend in the recruitment industry, where both opportunities and challenges arise as technology evolves.
"When I was invited to interview with an AI, I thought it'd be really cool. I wanted to try it," Shafiq said, reflecting on her experience.
"It acknowledged my responses and complimented them before asking follow-up questions. I was shocked that it was asking such good follow-up questions," she noted.
