Latent Labs has introduced LatentX, a web-based AI model for programming biology, following $50 million in funding. This model has achieved state-of-the-art performance in testing developed proteins. LatentX allows academic institutions, biotech startups, and pharmaceutical companies to design new proteins using natural language. Unlike AlphaFold, which visualizes existing protein structures, LatentX generates entirely new designed proteins. The model is initially offered free, with plans for advanced features to be available for a fee. Latent Labs aims to license its model to organizations lacking their own AI resources.
Latent Labs' model achieved state-of-the-art performance when tested on proteins, enabling users to design novel proteins directly in their browser using natural language.
LatentX allows the design of entirely new protein structures, helping accelerate the development of new therapeutics more rapidly and efficiently than traditional methods.
