An Interview with Sophie Seita & Naomi Woo | Berlin Art Link
Briefly

Sophie Seita and Naomi Woo's project 'Tributaries: a Wet Ritual for Witnessing' centers on water and addresses its use, preservation, and abuse. Gatherings near water allow for contemplation on these themes across varied histories and identities. The work involved various collaborators and represents a meeting point through time and space. It explores water's dual role in fostering and undermining social bonds, positioning water as both a life-giving force and a powerful agent of change, encapsulating human experience and memory.
Water is a kind of archive, a kind of storehouse of memory that is, nevertheless, always in flux. Water has a clear chemical formula, but that is perhaps the only thing clear about this most fundamental of agents in the lives of people and societies.
The work was realized with input from a group of other collaborators and is intended to be a kind of meeting point, across times, places and identities.
