Free outdoor exhibition turns parks, shopping centres and churches into open-air galleries
"Thirty large reproductions of National Gallery paintings are popping up around Croydon, as part of the NG's Art On Your Doorstep project to display its artworks in public spaces. Thirty paintings have been installed across the borough and will remain on display until 5th July 2026, with sites in the town centre including Queen's Gardens, Croydon Minster, Whitgift Shopping Centre and Park Hill Park."
"Additional works have been placed in Coulsdon, New Addington, Purley, Thornton Heath and Upper Norwood. The selection was made with input from local community groups and features artists including Michelangelo, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, George Stubbs, J. M. W. Turner, Jan van Eyck and Vincent van Gogh. Among the works to be shown are Whistlejacket, The Bathers and Sunflowers. Each reproduction will be presented at its original scale, allowing visitors to view details and brushwork up close."
