SF Art Institute Will Reopen With the New Name California Academy of Studio Arts (CASA)
Briefly

The SF Art Institute, once a revered institution, faced closure due to bankruptcy but has been revitalized under the leadership of Laurene Powell Jobs. Renamed the California Academy of Studio Arts (CASA), it will offer a one-year program for about 30 students annually, focusing on hands-on resources like studio space and mentorship. Powell Jobs emphasized CASA's commitment to fostering creativity and community, drawing inspiration from Black Mountain College's legacy, although the school will not pursue accreditation.
CASA builds on the legacy and the bold spirit of Black Mountain College, supporting artists through connection, experimentation, and care.
We are creating a dynamic experimental program that will be informed by the artists themselves.
