Austin Riley to remain on Injured List until perhaps Friday, per report
Briefly

Austin Riley remains on the Injured List with a strained right abdomen. The Atlanta Braves have decided not to activate him for the game against the Giants and may wait until at least Friday for his return. Nacho Alvarez Jr. is filling in for Riley, who boasts a batting average of .274 and .441 slugging percentage this season. Riley's bat is notably impactful, and although Alvarez Jr. contributes, he does not match Riley's capabilities.
Riley, who has a .274/.324/.441 line this season with a 112 wRC+ (and an adventure in the field at times) and a 153 wRC+ in July, is being deputized by Nacho Alvarez Jr.
The Braves won't activate Riley today and might wait until Friday. There's no reason to rush his return at this point.
Mark Bowman did not hint as to the severity of the injury or status of the recovery, only added that 'there's no reason to rush' him right now.
While it's good to see the young prospect get a run in the Major Leagues, the Braves can't replace Austin Riley's bat.
