'I made the most of it' - Tom Pidcock admits late Giro d'Italia wildcard decision affected his race
Briefly

Tom Pidcock has concluded the first half of his debut season with the Q36.5 team, finishing 16th at the Giro d'Italia. This marked his first participation in the Italian Grand Tour after a promising start to the season, which included a victory at the AlUla Tour and podium finishes at multiple races. Despite experiencing a crash during his big goal at Milan-San Remo earlier in the season, Pidcock displayed determination and skill at the Giro, securing three top-five placements. Now, he plans to take a break after a demanding schedule filled with 45 race days.
Pidcock reflected on his season saying, "When you start so hot ... it's a long time to hold [form] until now. But when you get an opportunity to ride the Giro, even if it's late notice, you give what you can."
Discussing his first experience with the Giro, Pidcock noted, "It's been a long block, to be honest ... I think the motivation was super high to start really well, which I did."
