"All the new MTB updates and brand history aside, Salsa Cycles has recently teased something pretty wild on their website, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't roll my eyes a little bit when I saw it. Full-suspension gravel bikes are having a moment right now, but the addition of a battery, dropper post, and other features is really taking things to the extreme."
"Salsa also captions this image with "Full suspension gravel. Like never before," on their own website, making it a little more apparent to those of us who are curious that this is actually a gravel bike and not a drop-bar mountain bike. From the teaser image, it also looks like this new bike might have a battery and motor on it, and the top tube seems to have some kind og system controller inset."
"The teaser image also features illustrations that highlight specific aspects of the bike as exciting or new, and these illustrations are clearly seen near where a motor, battery, and system display would be found. We can also see that whatever this new bike will be, it will be full-suspension, with wide tire clearance thanks to an actual MTB fork, a dropper seatpost, and, unfortunately, through headset cable routing."
Salsa Cycles refreshed many mountain bikes and recently teased a radical full-suspension gravel model blending MTB features with drop-bar ergonomics. The teaser shows a battery, motor, and an inset top-tube system controller suggesting e-assist. Illustrations highlight motor, battery, and system display locations. The bike appears to include an actual MTB fork for wide tire clearance, a dropper seatpost, and through-headset cable routing. The teaser caption 'Curiouser and curiouser' evokes deep exploration, while the on-site wording 'Full suspension gravel. Like never before.' confirms gravel intent. Some shifters and components in the image appear to be renderings.
