What Do Formula 1 and Mountain Biking Have in Common?
Briefly

Brembo has officially confirmed the development of prototype downhill mountain bike brakes in collaboration with Specialized Gravity riders for the 2025 UCI Downhill World Cup races. The partnership echoes the historical link between Brembo and Ferrari, aimed at bringing championship-level innovation to mountain biking. The two-piece caliper brakes feature 2.3mm thick rotors and offer various adjustment options. As downhill speeds increase and competition intensifies, teams are eager to find small performance gains, making efficient braking a crucial factor in racing effectiveness.
"At Specialized, we've always believed that racing is the ultimate proving ground for innovation," said Armin Landgraf, CEO of Specialized.
"This collaboration brings a championship-winning thinking to mountain biking with exclusive development input and access to these purpose-built brakes."
