Doom Board Game Kickstarter Launches, Offers Retro And Modern Ripping, Tearing
"Doom could be headed to your board-game collection if a new Kickstarter is funded. Just launched on Kickstarter, Doom the Arena Board Game takes one man's war on hell into a full-scale tabletop warzone. Joining Vampire Survivors as another video game-turned-board game, Doom also includes a host of hellish minitatures, but also comes in two editions, as Doom: The Dark Ages will also be available with its own assortment of distinct miniatures."
"The goal seems simple: to spill the most Blood. Dealing damage serves a dual purpose and advances you toward victory. Players will battle up to three rounds, and at the end of each round, you spend Arsenal Points to upgrade your forces: the Doom Slayer can unlock more powerful weapons, while the forces of Hell can bring on bigger and more deadly units. After the best of three rounds, the side that has spilled the most Blood is declared victorious."
Doom the Arena is a licensed tabletop adaptation that brings DOOM weapons, abilities, and iconic characters to PVC miniatures across two editions, including Doom: The Dark Ages. The campaign is developed and published by Modiphius in partnership with Resurrectionist Games and licensed by id Software and Bethesda, aiming for $133,000 and having raised around $50,000 so far. Gameplay emphasizes tactical positioning and brutal arena combat, resolving in best-of-three rounds where dealing damage accumulates Blood and players use Arsenal Points between rounds to upgrade the Doom Slayer or summon deadlier Hell units. Design runs through March, manufacturing starts in June, and fulfillment is targeted for October with shipping and tariff estimates provided.
