The Idaho Four review a disturbing, necessary portrait of a killer and his victims
Briefly

In November 2022, four students in Moscow, Idaho, were brutally murdered by a masked assailant. The victims, Kaylee Goncalves, Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, and Madison Mogen, suffered multiple stab wounds. The perpetrator, Bryan Kohberger, was identified through videos and cellphone records. He was arrested in December, later pleaded guilty, and is anticipated to receive four life sentences along with additional time for burglary. Kohberger’s confession contained minimal details, and he had no known motivations for the attack. A new book detailing the case, titled The Idaho Four, provides insightful context about the victims and the killer.

Bryan Kohberger, a doctoral candidate at Washington State University, was arrested in late December and subsequently pleaded guilty to the murders.
The killer left a gruesome scene, and the motive for the murders was not readily apparent, although videos and cellphone records led law enforcement to Kohberger.
Scheduled to be tried this August, Kohberger escaped the death penalty and is likely to serve multiple life sentences for his crimes.
