Red Sox Anthony was grabbing his left side as he made his way back to the Red Sox dugout in the bottom of the fourth inning. An already banged-up Red Sox outfield received even more bad news on Tuesday night. Red Sox star rookie Roman Anthony exited Boston's home matchup against the Cleveland Guardians in the top of the fifth inning after tweaking something in his side.

In the bottom of the fifth inning with the game tied at one run apiece, Duran shot a line drive ball into right-center field which rolled into Fenway Park's triangle. The ball ended up 420 feet away from home plate after the Pirates' outfielders struggled to secure it. An off-line throw to home by Pittsburgh allowed Duran to cross the plate standing up. The 28-year-old notched his first career inside-the-park home run to give Boston a 4-1 lead at the time.

Payton Tolle's Major League debut was one to remember. The hard-throwing left-hander fanned eight over 5 1/3 sharp innings Friday night, electrifying the Fenway faithful and offering fans a glimpse into the future. Greg Weissert allowed back-to-back doubles, and both runs were charged to Tolle in an eventual 4-2 loss to the Pirates, yet it was still a largely promising opening act for the highly regarded rookie.

The investigation found that Transdev, the company that runs the BPS bus system, has an "insufficient" record-keeping system and "incomplete and unreliable" driver training files. It also found that Transdev "lacks reliable, data-driven evidence" of how its training programs reduce preventable accidents. Finally, the investigators determined that neither Transdev nor BPS has put "meaningful and sustained auditing and oversight mechanisms" in place.

The Red Sox made a series of roster moves Thursday morning, most notably reinstating right-handed reliever Justin Slaten from the 60-day IL. That move brings Boston's 40-man roster to capacity. Nick Sogard capped off a three-hit day Tuesday with two more hits in the leadoff spot on Wednesday. But the real difference-maker offensively was a guy who struck out four times Tuesday... Abraham Toro! He went yard in the fifth with a solo shot that would represent the fourth straight inning the WooSox scored a run off the Bulls ( Rays AAA) and that's all Worcester needed off the very effective pitching Chad Tracy managed all night.

After the Sox had a tough end to their home-stand by losing 3 in a row, they've bounced back on this 8-game roadtrip, winning the Yankees series and guaranteeing a split series with the Orioles at minimum. In any event, it's been a winning road trip, with 5 wins so far out of the 8 games played (but 3 to go), all the better considering the Red Sox's road record hasn't been as good as their home record this season.
