Hernan Marrero, 50, of Roslindale was driving a gray Jeep heading south in the northbound lanes when he collided with Trainor's cruiser, according to a statement from the Essex County District Attorney's office. Marrero also died in the crash."
"Trainor, a field training officer, had served as a state trooper for three years. He leaves behind his fiance, mother, three brothers, and one sister. Following Trainor's death, Gov. Maura Healey ordered the U.S. flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag to be lowered to half-staff at all buildings to honor and remember the fallen trooper."
"The Greg Hill Foundation launched a fundraiser for Trainor's family. As of Thursday, more than $42,000 has been raised, which is approximately 84% of its goal. "Please consider donating to help Kevin's family following this tragic accident," the campaign description states."
