"(Jeremy Swayman) was really good and we obviously wanted to give him the start in the outdoor game," coach Marco Sturm told reporters in Florida. "And this one today I think is a tricky one. We have the Olympics coming up and (Swayman's) probably thinking about that, too. We thought Korpi was playing really well. (Swayman) had already played three games in a row, so there's a lot more to it. We hope Korpi will be the right guy."
"Anton Lundell is also expected back. The B's will be facing a desperate Panther team, and we've seen what they can do when they're desperate. "I see them as champions," said Sturm. "It doesn't matter how good or bad they are, we're going to treat it like a good game for us. These are very big points up for grab before the break starts."
Joonas Korpisalo was named to the Finnish Olympic team as an injury replacement and will start for the Bruins in their final game before the Olympic break. Korpisalo enters the game after a 4-0-1 January stretch. Jeremy Swayman started the outdoor Stadium Series game, but coach Marco Sturm cited Swayman's recent workload and Olympic considerations in choosing Korpisalo. The rest of the lineup remains the same as the Stadium Series. The Bruins are without centermen Elias Lindholm and Pavel Zacha and hold the second wild-card spot with a five-point cushion over Columbus, Toronto and Washington. Former captain Brad Marchand is not expected to play, Sam Bennett is back, and Anton Lundell is expected to return. The matchup presents key points before the break against a desperate Panthers team.
