Bharti Global has appointed Sunil Bharti Mittal and Gopal Vittal to BT's board as representatives of Bharti Televentures UK Limited. The appointments follow Bharti Global's acquisition of a 24.5 percent stake in BT in August 2024 for around £3.6 billion. Under a Relationship Agreement Bharti Global can nominate two directors while holding 20 percent or more, and one director while holding at least 10 percent but less than 20 percent. BT's chairman described the appointees as bringing significant telecoms experience, and Mittal said he wants to work with BT management to drive forward the strategy to win in the market. BT's share price has rallied about 20 percent since the stake purchase amid confidence in CEO Allison Kirkby's strategy to concentrate on UK customers and scale back global operations, including the sale of global information exchange networ
