In-N-Out owner responds to backlash over her comments about California
Briefly

Lynsi Snyder, In-N-Out's owner, announced the company's expansion with a new headquarters in Tennessee, claiming it's difficult to raise a family in California. This sparked controversy and some called for a boycott. Snyder emphasized her continued commitment to California customers, asserting that her family's move doesn't reflect a lack of appreciation. She clarified that the company is not closing California locations but aims to provide more opportunities for its associates in Tennessee. The new eastern territory office is expected to open in 2026.
"Where I raise my family has nothing to do with my love and appreciation for our customers in California," Snyder said in an Instagram video posted Monday night.
"I'm very proud of where In-N-Out started, and anyone who knows me, they know how often I talk about where we started and how our customers here in California brought us to where we are today," she said.
"There's so many opportunities for people to own homes in Tennessee and even some of the surrounding states that we could possibly end up in," she said.
"It's tough here in California, and this doesn't have to do with my love or loyalty to the state and our customers, but I love our associates and I would love to offer them this."
