Award categories include Contribution to the Arts (Elsa Nunez), High School Student of the Year (Jacob Su), Businessperson/Business of the Year (Liam Balfe), Educator of the Year (Christine Penland), Environmental Achievement (Eric Krock), Volunteer of the Year (Rose Gregorio), and Distinguished Residents of the Year (Mike and Sue Serrone). A selection panel of former recipients and board and commission members chooses the winners. Klein will also present Mayor's Awards of Excellence to Bridget Watson and Charles Street Gardens. The free event runs 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at City Hall and includes a community organization fair. The Heritage Park Museum's fall exhibit highlights products and manufacturers once made in Sunnyvale and is open Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, noon–4 pm.
