Injured Bears rookie Burden still not practicing
Briefly

Luther Burden III, the rookie wide receiver drafted 39th overall by the Chicago Bears, has missed all practices since a hamstring injury sustained during the first OTA on May 20. Initially expected to recover in time for training camp, the injury has lingered. Bears' coach Ben Johnson expressed hope for Burden's return. Veteran receivers Olamide Zacchaeus and Devin Duvernay have stepped up in his absence. Burden was a notable performer in college, earning All-SEC and All-American honors, and is anticipated to compete for the No. 3 receiver position behind DJ Moore and Rome Odunze.

We were very hopeful that he'd be ready to go Day 1. But the soft tissue that he was dealing with there in the springtime lingered a little bit longer than we wanted.
Burden was a first-team All-SEC selection during the 2023-24 seasons and earned AP All-American honors during his sophomore season when he totaled 1,212 receiving yards.
With Burden sidelined, veteran wide receivers Olamide Zacchaeus and Devin Duvernay have taken reps with the first-team unit during the early days of training camp.
