Blaine Wynk, a Miamisburg graduate and Ohio State junior pitcher, was drafted in the eighth round, 226th overall by the Chicago White Sox in the 2025 MLB Draft. Wynk had a standout career, earning All-Conference honors in 2024 with 21 relief appearances. Despite an injury-plagued 2025 season, he managed five appearances and struck out 13 batters. Previously, Wynk played at the University of Finland and was recognized as All-Area Player of the Year in high school. He plans to start training in Arizona for a minor league spot in 2026.

"I always tell everyone that first year of college, I was just going to play for four years and be done. The fact that it bloomed to go to Ohio State and now this, I could never have saw that coming."
