White Sox activate Austin Slater from IL, option Brooks Baldwin to Triple-A
"So imaging showed I had a slight tear, so I went under and had surgery and that was almost five weeks ago. So way faster than I thought."
"Anytime you miss an extended period, you know, and watching the guys, you just want to get back out there to help any way you can."
Austin Slater was activated from the injured list by the Chicago White Sox following a successful recovery from a knee surgery he underwent for a meniscus tear. Slater, who had a solid rehab stint batting .385, expressed his surprise at the rapid recovery process after initially fearing his season might be over. With Slater back, Brooks Baldwin was sent to Triple-A Charlotte. Manager Will Venable noted the need to manage playing time due to returning players and highlighted the importance of Baldwin gaining experience.
