The Chicago White Sox have placed pitcher Tyler Gilbert on the 15-day injured list due to a sprained MCL in his left knee. Gilbert, who has had a previous injury of similar nature in spring training, left the game against the Cubs after just two batters. Manager Will Venable indicated that the current injury is not as serious as Gilbert's earlier one. Additionally, the team recalled Jared Shuster from Triple-A Charlotte. Infielder Jacob Amaya was also outrighted to Charlotte after clearing waivers.
