The Chicago White Sox announced that infielder Chase Meidroth has been placed on the 10-day injured list as a result of inflammation in his right thumb. In his brief nine-game MLB tenure, Meidroth has shown promise with a .269 batting average. Bobby Dalbec has been called up from Triple-A Charlotte; he has been performing exceptionally well with a .326 average and 1.050 OPS, contributing significantly to his team's offense. To accommodate Dalbec, left-hander Martin Perez was shifted to the 60-day IL due to elbow issues.
