White Sox reach agreement for potential future sale of controlling interest to Justin Ishbia
Briefly

The Chicago White Sox announced an agreement with Justin Ishbia, brother of Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia, to potentially acquire controlling interest in the team by 2034. As a current limited partner, Ishbia will inject capital into the White Sox during 2025 and 2026, aiding the team's debt reduction and operational needs. Jerry Reinsdorf, who has overseen the team since 1981, noted his commitment to return the franchise to past success and indicated he would continue managing the team until he can no longer do so.
Under the agreement, White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf will have the option to sell controlling interest in the team to Ishbia from 2029-33.
I have always expressed my intent to operate the White Sox as long as I am able and remain committed to returning this franchise to the level of on-field success we all expect and desire.
