John Egan will join Polygon Labs as chief product officer and will begin his role immediately, concentrating on payments across Polygon’s ecosystem of chains built on Ethereum. Conversations between Egan and Polygon Labs began in early August and progressed quickly. Polygon CEO Marc Boiron expects Egan to have significant impact on the company’s payments efforts. Egan previously led crypto at Stripe and played a central role in Stripe’s crypto moves, including acquisitions of Bridge and Privy and the development of Stripe’s Tempo blockchain with Paradigm.
