"Axis Mundi: Resonant Spire reconfigures the fragmented conditions of contemporary signal environments into a spatial framework, allowing for a new form of collective expression."
"As participation increases, the signal density shifts, leading to partial alignments that produce a more continuous vertical illumination, transforming individual voices into a unified light experience."
"The 300 rings of the tower serve as a vertical archive of interaction, where lower sections stabilize while upper sections remain responsive, capturing the essence of collective activity over time."
Axis Mundi: Resonant Spire is a 12-meter interactive tower designed to convert human voice into a vertical system of light and sound. It addresses the fragmentation of digital communication, where vocal input is often filtered and lacks shared meaning. Located in the Black Rock Desert, the tower utilizes microphones and sensors to process voice and noise data in real time. The structure features 300 circular modules that interact to create light output, reflecting collective input and producing a unified column of light when coherence is achieved.
