"Morphosis transforms discarded materials into a living spatial system, utilizing papercrete to create a porous envelope that reconstructs the visual and structural memory of a tree."
"The installation's unique components, shaped by hand, produce variations in density, light, and shadow, creating a dynamic environment that evokes the scale and texture of a grove."
"By cultivating microgreens on the papercrete surfaces, Morphosis introduces cyclical changes, making the installation responsive to time and biological processes, where surface becomes landscape."
Morphosis is a 5x5x5 meter installation that uses papercrete, a structural medium made from shredded paper, to create a porous environment. The design incorporates slender metal frames supporting unique papercrete branches, allowing for plant growth. The installation's spatial dynamics shift between compression and openness, with light and shadow creating a dynamic atmosphere. It also features the cultivation of microgreens, introducing a temporal aspect as the installation evolves through growth and decay, merging biological processes with architectural form.
