Windows 10 and 11, along with Android, retain records of stored network connections, enabling users to retrieve Wi-Fi passwords. To find the password for the current network on Windows, access 'View Network Connections,' then check the Status and Wireless Properties of the network connection. The password can be revealed by selecting 'Show characters' in the Security tab. For older networks, users can open a command prompt and enter a command to display all previously connected networks along with their passwords, which can be shared or used on other devices.
Search for 'View Network Connections' and click to see a list of all your network adapters, showing any connected networks and their status.
Right-click on the current network connection, select Status, then click the Wireless Properties button to navigate to the Security tab.
Check Show characters in the Security tab to make the Wi-Fi password visible in the Network security key field, which can then be copied.
To find passwords for older networks, use the command prompt to list all SSIDs and passwords from networks previously connected to.
