Family-owned Bay Area bakery says DoorDash overcharged it by $100K
Briefly

La Patisserie, a family-owned bakery in Cupertino, found that DoorDash had overcharged them for eight years with a 30% commission instead of the contracted 13%. This led to over $100,000 in excess charges. After initial offers of partial refund and many attempts to resolve the situation, the company finally agreed to pay the full amount after KGO-TV's intervention. DoorDash confirmed the resolution and also agreed to cover interest and penalties, showing a commitment to their relationship with the bakery.
"DoorDash has resolved this matter with La Patisserie and confirmed the resolution directly with them. This situation involved a specific set of historical circumstances, and we appreciate the constructive conversations throughout."
"As they say, we are a small fish in the sea and for them to strong-arm us ... it doesn't leave a good taste," Kevin Zahedi, the co-owner and accountant for the bakery, told KGO-TV.
