The Information Commissioner's Office highlighted that the company's practices breached UK electronic marketing laws. AFK, which helps consumers reclaim refunds, failed to prove valid consent for making calls. Investigations revealed that their third-party provider used vague consent statements, and AFK's privacy policy did not clarify that calls would be made. The ICO's report pointed out that proper consent is essential under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
