
"Until Wednesday's vote, the agreement between all parliamentary parties was in effect. No party in the history of the agreement has ever violated the agreement to manipulate a vote result. There has therefore previously been no need to discuss how to handle this type of violation."
Swedish MPs are set to meet to discuss adding transitional provisions to the recently passed citizenship law. The move comes after the far-right Sweden Democrats won a vote with additional MPs, violating the pairing agreement. The Green Party and other opposition parties are pushing for a revote to ensure the pairing agreement is respected.
