Hands-On Anti-Bird/glass Collision Workshop
Briefly

A workshop on July 27, 2025, in El Sobrante focuses on installing Feather Friendly markers to windows, addressing the serious issue of bird/glass collisions, which cause approximately one billion deaths annually in the U.S. Many collisions occur at residential buildings, and often birds suffer fatal internal injuries. The workshop includes a break for a tour of CA native pollinator gardens, and attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch. The event is co-sponsored by the Golden Gate Bird Alliance and the International Bird Rescue.
Bird/glass collisions result in up to one billion bird deaths annually in the U.S., mostly occurring at residential buildings, and often leading to internal injuries even if birds initially escape.
Installing visible markers on windows prevents bird collisions by allowing birds to recognize glass as a barrier instead of a path, helping to reduce fatalities.
