
"Hansi Flick has said recently that Barcelona must be careful when they choose which games he can play as he works his way back to full match fitness after such a lengthy spell out. According to Diario Sport, the club do have a thorough plan for Bernal and intend to start giving him "quality minutes" in November with a view to him starting to play a key role from January onwards."
"However, it seems that the midfielder is now in better shape and Flick is confident he can challenge for a place in the starting XI in the coming months. Bernal has only managed four substitute appearances so far this season, and a total of 31 minutes on the pitch, but the hope is we will see a lot more of him from now on."
