"Each piece has entered my wardrobe because it moved and challenged me. They articulated something I could not put into words myself. This project is not about showcasing fashion in a conventional sense. It is about documenting a relationship between the self and the garments, unveiling its inherent vulnerability but also strength."
COMME des GARCONS is approached as a philosophy and a way of understanding the world rather than a conventional fashion label. Wearing the garments is described as deeply personal, with construction, distortion, and nonconformity reflecting an internal landscape. Rei Kawakubo’s vision is linked to questioning conventional beauty, proportion, and expectation. Asymmetry, deconstruction, and conceptual layering transform clothing into conversation. The garments used come from a personal archive, including pieces from Junya Watanabe and NOIR Kei Ninomiya. Each garment entered the wardrobe because it moved and challenged the wearer, articulating feelings that were hard to express. The project documents a relationship between self and garments, revealing vulnerability and strength.
