More than 100,000 cosplayers and comic book fans attended MCM Comic-Con at Excel London over the weekend. Attendees of all ages reconnected with old friends and made new ones through shared interests and activities. Many attendees reported a sense of belonging that can be difficult to find in conventional social settings. Evening afterparties provided spaces for cosplay fans to relax, release energy and dance. Four attendees — Caitlin Tumber (24), Catherine Mariah (26), Emily Martin (24) and Meghan Tumbler (20) — were photographed enjoying lunch on the convention steps.
