""We were thinking about a lot of different songs but honesty, I just started obsessively listening to that album [Roan's 2023 debut The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess] and was a huge fan," she explained. "I was like, 'What if we could ask about 'Good Luck, Babe!'? I feel like that would be incredible. [Roan's team] were so amazing and within 24 hours approved the song to be used. We were like, 'Amazing! 'Cos we're shooting it tomorrow.'"
""I was really drawn to that song. Yurogos was too. It's interesting because thinking about the lyrics of it, there's lots of things that as you break apart, it really does kind of speak to the themes of the film in some interesting ways," she said. "But [I'm] a big Chappell fan so it just worked out really well that I got to sing that song a million times.""
Emma Stone personally pushed to include Chappell Roan's 'Good Luck, Babe!' in the film Burgonia and performed the song in a driving-to-work scene. Stone became a fan after obsessively listening to Roan's 2023 debut album and asked production to contact Roan's team. Roan's team approved use of the track within 24 hours, allowing the scene to be shot immediately. The song overlays the film's trailer and Stone connected its lyrics — about a queer, sapphic relationship involving a closeted partner — to the film's themes. 'Good Luck, Babe!' achieved major commercial success in 2024, reaching high positions on UK charts.
