Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan return as mother and daughter in "Freakier Friday," 22 years after their original film. This sequel introduces a new family member, making the body swap dynamic more interesting. Lohan expresses excitement about returning to set, feeling ready to make movies again. Curtis feels youthful and creatively energized. The film is described as fun yet deep, emphasizing the theme of empathy and understanding through the body-swapping concept. Chad Michael Murray and newcomer Sophia Hammons round out the cast, contributing to the film's overall appeal. It is set to release in theaters on August 8.
"I am younger today than I was 22 years ago when we made that movie. I feel younger. My mind is younger. My creativity is on steroids," said Curtis.
"The whole point of the body swap is to walk a mile in someone else's shoes. And I think it's such a fun, loving film but with so much depth," Hammons said.
"Don't judge me if I'm wrong because I don't think I am but this movie is just as good, if not better, than the first. It's that good," said Murray.
"Disney movies are all about love, right? Heart, humor, heart, humor, heart, humor. It's like a peanut butter cup, heart and humor, and when you get it right, it's really yummy. And I think this is pretty yummy," said Curtis.
