Keen Ruffalo said his father Mark Ruffalo advised him that consistency and persistence are essential in an acting career. He described how frequent auditions and repeated rejections eventually lead to landing roles and that persistence causes opportunities to pick up over time. Keen attended the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of his road trip comedy New Year's Rev with his parents. The film stars Mason Thames, Mckenna Grace and Fred Armisen and is based on early days of Green Day, produced by the band. Keen gained attention for his resemblance to his father after Mark shared birthday photos. Mark thanked his children during his Walk of Fame ceremony.
