Spanish Skater to Perform Minions Program at 2026 Olympics After Rights Reversal
"Huge THANK YOU to everyone who reposted, shared, and supported,"
"Because of you, Universal Studios reconsidered and officially granted the rights for this one special occasion."
"no longer permitted"
"due to copyright clearance issues."
Tomàs-Llorenç Guarino Sabaté will perform his Minions short program at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan after Universal Studios granted rights to use music from the film. Sabaté posted on Instagram Story thanking those who reposted, shared, and supported him and credited their support for Universal's reconsideration. Universal Studios initially informed him that he was no longer permitted to perform the Minions routine because of copyright clearance issues. The men's figure skating short program is scheduled for Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, and the granted clearance applies specifically to that occasion.
