Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Recap: Dead Planet
Briefly

A dangerous mission unfolds as Pike leads Dr. M'Benga to Kenfori in search of a chimera blossom, which is vital for Batel's recovery from Gorn tissue. Kenfori is now a restricted zone due to the aftermath of the Federation-Klingon War. Despite the risks and the Federation's prohibition on entering Kenfori, Pike insists on leading the mission himself, rather than accepting Spock's suggestion. The crew of the Enterprise navigates the tensions around Klingon territory while passionately supporting Pike's course of action.
Kenfori is not a place anyone should want to go. And if you have to go there, you'd be better off in a bigger ship than a shuttle.
Batel's only hope is apparently a chimera blossom, a rare flower that might provide a long-shot chance at a cure.
Going there is, officially, a big no-no. That's not going to stop Pike, however, who agrees with Spock's plan that, yes, they should send a mere two-person team to Kenfori.
The rest of the Enterprise has little trouble breaking the rules on behalf of their captain. Ortegas is especially excited about flying into, er, around disputed Klingon territory.
