Banyan Bar + Refuge, located in the South End, is closing for several weeks due to damage from a kitchen fire on June 30. Initial assessments underestimated the extent of the damage. Although management stated they would reopen later that week, further updates indicate repairs and inspections will delay their return. Owner Rebecca Roth Gullo confirmed that no one was present during the fire. On July 18, the restaurant will celebrate its 10th anniversary, despite the anticipated closure during that time.
