Marc Flore, a 45-year-old man from Portland, has pleaded guilty to tampering with consumer products after lacing ice cream with THC. He prepared coffee Oreo THC-laced ice cream for personal use but failed to label it and stored it with commercial ice cream. In March 2023, customers at Roots Cafe unknowingly consumed this THC-laced ice cream, resulting in dizziness, vomiting, and hospitalization for three individuals. Following the incident, Roots Cafe ceased buying ice cream from Flore's company, which subsequently went out of business. Flore is scheduled for sentencing on November 4.

Marc Flore, 45, of Portland, pleaded guilty Monday to one count of tampering with consumer products in a Concord federal court.
In September 2022, Flore reportedly made a batch of coffee Oreo THC-laced ice cream only intended for his personal use and put it in a freezer with other ice cream meant for commercial use without labeling it.
Following the incident, Roots Cafe stopped purchasing ice cream from Angelo's Amore, which reportedly went out of business.
