This 24,000-calorie scotch egg was fried for 30 minutes and cooked in the oven for three hours, successfully cutting it open with the yolk intact.
The record was confirmed as the egg surpassed the previous record of 6.2kg, earning the duo a place in the Guinness World Records.
The Guinness World Record rules state that no food should go to waste, so the scotch egg was portioned into 19 burritos after being measured.
