"International Air Transport Association head Willie Walsh has said that Europe has enough jet fuel to last until the end of May, but after that, the picture varies depending on the country. France is not one of the worst affected countries. It is currently estimated that, with fuel reserves released, it has enough fuel to last until the end of September."
France’s transport minister said widespread flight cancellations are not expected this summer. He stated that airlines will adhere to flight schedules and that travelers will be able to travel as planned. He linked concerns about cancellations to jet fuel volatility tied to conflict in the Middle East, but said this volatility will not translate into cancellations during the peak season. He noted that airlines earn about 70% of their revenue between July and August, giving them strong incentives to keep flights running. Industry leaders also assessed the risk of widespread cancellations across Europe as very low. Fuel availability was described as sufficient for most of the near term, with France estimated to have enough fuel until the end of September.
