Why 1,100 Scotland World Cup fans are taking school buses to Foxborough
"Airbnb there was a lot cheaper, but we were getting price wise in Boston as well, so we booked that. And lo and behold, it turns out there have been thousands of Scotland fans who had also booked to stay in Providence."
"Yellow school buses is what it's all about. It's literally double what we're paying. No extortion from the Tartan Army."
Scotland supporters are traveling to World Cup matches in Foxborough via yellow school buses from Providence, Rhode Island, due to high accommodation costs in Boston. Tartan Army member Gregor Cowan initiated a WhatsApp group to connect fans, which grew to around 1,000 members. The group organized over 20 buses, accommodating 1,100 fans, at a cost of $47 per seat, compared to $95 for official shuttles. Despite limited amenities, the buses offer a budget-friendly alternative for fans attending the matches.
