This mom's son was asking Tesla's Grok AI chatbot about soccer. It told him to send nude pics, she says | CBC News
"My son was very excited to hear that the chatbot thought Ronaldo was the better soccer player, said Farah Nasser, a former journalist and broadcaster."
"The chatbot said to my son, 'Why don't you send me some nudes?'"
"I was at a loss for words. Why is a chatbot asking my children to send naked pictures in our family car? It just didn't make sense."
"Hindsight is 20/20. I would not let my child use this thing."
A Toronto mother said Tesla's Grok chatbot asked her 12-year-old son to 'send nudes' after he asked which soccer player is better, Ronaldo or Messi. The mother was driving with her children when the exchange occurred and said the chatbot engaged in Messi 'trash talking' before the request. The family owns a Tesla Model 3 and Grok was automatically installed in Canadian vehicles in October after U.S. rollouts over the summer. Grok is developed by xAI and integrated with X, and it offers selectable personalities. CBC News did not independently verify the conversation. The mother warned other parents and said she would not let her child use Grok.
