You Can Now Charge Your EV At Over 200 Pilot And Flying J Gas Stations
"Getting back to the sometimes miserable charging experience while on the go, the DC fast chargers installed by GM and EVgo at Pilot and Flying J gas stations should make things a lot better. First off, they're located along major interstate travel corridors, with well-lit bays, access to free Wi-Fi, on-site restaurants and groceries. What's more, many charging stations also have canopies, which can make a big difference if it's scorching hot outside or snowing."
"The chargers themselves are 350-kilowatt stalls from EVgo, which offer two charging cords. If there's a single EV charging, the full power can go to it; if two EVs are charging simultaneously, the power is split between them. Plug-and-Charge, which allows drivers simply plug in and start a charging session (if the necessary setup was done beforehand), is also supported for compatible vehicles."
General Motors, EVgo and Pilot Company have deployed roughly 850 DC fast charging stalls at more than 200 Pilot and Flying J travel centers across nearly 40 states over the past two years. The network expanded from about 130 locations in more than 25 states earlier this year. The EVgo chargers provide up to 350 kW through two cords, delivering full power to a single vehicle or splitting power when two vehicles charge simultaneously. Plug-and-Charge is supported for compatible vehicles. Stations sit along major interstate corridors and offer well-lit bays, free Wi-Fi, on-site restaurants, groceries, canopies and pull-through stalls for trailer-equipped EVs. New states added include Colorado, South Carolina, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Dakota and South Dakota.
