Pokemon Legends: Z-A Will Make Those Pesky Mega Evolution Stones Easier To Win
"The first season for Pokémon Legends: Z-A featured Greninjite as the reward for reaching rank K (the game starts at rank Z and tops at A). But with the second season starting on Wednesday, November 5, at 10 PM PT/1 AM ET, those who missed getting Greninja's Mega Stone can win it by only leveling up once to rank Y, and Delphoxite will be rewarded at the lower rank of S. That's eight ranks lower than the prior season's requirement."
"It's not a perfect solution, as players will still be required to participate in online matches (which requires a Nintendo Switch Online subscription) to obtain these Mega Stones that could have just been part of the base game. Additionally, a patch scheduled for some time in November will address two issues that affect progression in the story. One prevents players from obtaining or catching any new Pokemon if their storage boxes are full before a certain story mission, and another is a glitch that can occur when the game transitions between day and night."
"Fans were irked to learn that the Mega Stones for the Kalos starters (Greninja, Delphox, and Chesnaught) were locked behind ranked matches of the game's Z-A Battle Club multiplayer mode. While that will still remain the case, the requirements to earn these items will be less demanding come the game's next competitive season. Previously, the expectation was that you could only earn one Mega Stone for one of the three aforementioned Pokemon per season."
Requirements to obtain Mega Stones for Greninja, Delphox, and Chesnaught in Pokémon Legends: Z-A are being lowered for the next competitive season. Season two begins Wednesday, November 5 at 10 PM PT/1 AM ET; Greninjite can be earned by reaching rank Y and Delphoxite by reaching rank S. The first season awarded Greninjite for reaching rank K. The game will adjust points awarded and increase battle rewards after matches. Online matches and a Nintendo Switch Online subscription remain required to obtain these items. A November patch will fix full-storage progression blocks and a day-night transition glitch.
